Risk Management Plan

Volunteer safety is our top priority and we maintain a culture of comprehensive risk mitigation on our trips. International travel inherently involves risks, and we strive to identify and minimize risks through carefully selected partnerships, pro-active planning and continuous assessment of effective communication, training, equipment, and emergency response. We have a comprehensive risk management plan and acknowledging that change is a constant, we build in practices allowing us to implement changes to our program and adapt as circumstances change.

GIVE’s comprehensive risk management plan can be downloaded via the link below. The documentation contained within is used to mitigate risk in the field and has been compiled to allow potential partners to vet our operations.

GIVE is dedicated to running safe, substantive trips. Please note that the International Sustainable Development Institute at Central Washington University has and continues to vet all aspects of GIVE extensively. A PhD with extensive expertise in risk management, international travel and tourism, has participated in GIVE trips at all locations.
