Travel During COVID

We're here to support you to travel safe and responsible so you can travel confidently, when the time is right

Travel & Navigating COVID

For the last decade, it has been our absolute privilege to inspire more than 6,000 past volunteers to travel with purpose and empower our host communities to fulfill their positive visions for the future. In April of 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to temporarily pause our international programs in order to keep our participants, staff and host community members safe. This was the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make, and the months following it have proven even harder. However, if there’s one thing GIVE truly believes in, it’s the collective power of humanity to overcome our world’s greatest challenges, and we can now see a light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.

As our host countries begin to reopen their borders and we continue to develop knowledge, resources and strategies to effectively mitigate the risks of COVID-19, we are ready, able and so excited to begin reopening all of our international programs safely and responsibly in May 2021. As always, we will continue to adapt our protocols according to the guidelines and recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of State Travel Advisories, the World Health Organization (WHO), reputable local and international media outlets, travel and industry experts, and first-hand reports from our partners and staff in-country.

As a planet, we need each other, now more than ever. COVID-19 may separate us physically for the time being, but the time will soon come to reconnect our fractured world, rebuild our interconnected economy, and reclaim our intrinsic connection with one another. The time will soon come to travel again and, when it does, we sincerely hope you will choose to travel with purpose, with GIVE. Together, we can help to heal ourselves and our planet.
